Blue Stone Business Group
Privacy Policy
Confidentiality & Security:
All the information supplied to Blue Stone Business Group and/or its affiliates, (hereinafter referred to as ‘Blue Stone’) is completely confidential. The information a buyer supplies is sent directly to Blue Stone for review by Blue Stone’s in house staff. This information will be sent to the franchisor and/or the seller of the business under consideration AFTER we speak with the buyer. The franchisor and/or seller has strict instructions not to share this information with anyone else. Please Note: Blue Stone must comply with a valid subpoena/court order.
Blue Stone has appropriate measures to prevent personal data from:
- Being accidentally lost. Through Zoho CRM, Blue Stone has a secure storage and back-up system.
- Used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. Through Zoho CRM, Blue Stone has a secure, password protected and password authentication system.
Through Zoho CRM, Blue Stone has procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will provide notification where we are legally required to do so.
Collection:
Blue Stone collects personal data (‘data’ as defined by the GDPR) received through online business-for-sale websites. These are online platforms where businesses are listed for sale, i.e. BizBuySell.com, BizBen.com, Businessesforsale.com. For information on the data processing and privacy rights of these business-for-sale websites see the Links Section below. Blue Stone also may receive data from a prospective buyer through its secure (Secure Sockets Layer ‘SSL’ Certified) website at buyabusinesstoday.com.
Blue Stone receives data from business-for-sale websites when a prospective buyer requests information regarding a business for sale by completing a short form on the business-for-sale website. The information provided by the buyer is basic contact information, i.e. name, email, phone number. Blue Stone receives the data through a secure data processing software, Zoho CRM. For information on Zoho’s data processing and privacy policy go to Zoho’s privacy policy in the Links Section below.
Blue Stone does not knowingly collect data from students or children. A buyer must be a United States citizen or have a valid Visa.
For information regarding GDPR and its definitions, and other websites mentioned above, see links in the Links Section below.
Data We Collect & Why:
Because the business listing is strictly confidential, the sellers require that all buyers complete a brief Non-Disclosure Agreement & Confidential Buyer Profile (NDA). The NDA informs the buyer of the terms of the NDA, the purpose of the information collected, and that the information is confidential and will not be shared without first speaking with the buyer and gaining their consent. Types of data collected in the NDA are name, address, phone number, email address, approximate capital available for the purchase of the business, etc. The full NDA is at the link in the Links Section below.
Because the businesses, sellers, and/or franchisors have strict guidelines on who may qualify to purchase the business, data collected is used for the purpose of vetting/qualifying the buyer for the purchase. The NDA provides information to help the buyer to understand these guidelines and the purpose of the information collected (See ‘Help’ Links in the NDA webform; See Links Section below).
Blue Stone will only use data collected for the purposes that we collected that data i.e. a prospective buyer is interested in a business for sale. Blue Stone reserves the right to refuse to do business with anyone who refuses to provide the required information.
Data Retention & Removal:
Blue Stone will only retain data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for data, Blue Stone considers the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of data, the purposes for which Blue Stone processes data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
Some buyers wish to be contacted in the future regarding businesses for sale. Blue Stone has put into place a system by which we may reasonably determine those who wish to be contacted in the future and those who do not.
To request removal from our database contact us anytime by telephone or email at 916-226-5684 [email protected]. Upon your request, your data will be deleted from the database within 5 business days from receipt of the request.
